The real beauty of natural African Kissi stone is that it is carved by an artisan from a tribe in western Kenya, - near the shore of Lake Victoria. These artisans use only a rough file and a chisel, just as they have for generation upon generation. The locally mined stone Is found in a wide range of colors. It is carved, sanded, and polished. Sometimes the art is colored with natural dyes, and then the artist scribes back down to the stone to create wonderful designs and drawings.
