Nepali Malas

Nepali Malas.  These malas are from the Nepali temple of Pashupati in Kathmandu. While made of braided thread, each of the knots is made to represent the malas worn by the Sadhus, which symbolize the eternal strife, which is the path to the enlightenment of the Sunyasi. Shiva devotees and pilgrims are allowed to purchase these at their visit to the Pashupati temple to take to friends and loved ones for good luck and prosperity.
